Shop the Room: Marin Hillside Cottage Family Room
As more of our time is spent at home, our spaces have had to adapt quickly and are oftentimes required to be multi-functional. But that doesn’t mean we need to sacrifice aesthetics! Here we take one example of how form can go hand-in-hand with function: the family room from our Marin Hillside Cottage project.
THE STORY
Tucked away next to acres of beautiful open space, Marin Hillside Cottage was a complete gut-renovation where an aged 80's home was transformed into a clean and sophisticated family retreat. With new high ceilings to bring in lots of natural light, we made the family room a space you want to be in and live in, which is what this family wanted and needed.
What began as a plan to simply design a more functional and open-concept kitchen soon turned into a full-home makeover to make every space as family-functional as possible!
They required a space that integrated family time in front of the fire, board game time, TV and movie time, a small workspace for WFH time, and abundant storage space. We combined all functions and made the room pretty too, with fresh, timeless and tranquil touches throught.
